A great place for walkers. The hardier ones will choose the GR14 (marked hiking trail) or the loop on Mont Aigu and will follow the tracks of the legend of Saint Berthe. The founder of the abbey had bought a spring at Vertuelle, hence the name of the river La Livre, and had drawn it towards her by tracing the bed with the tip of her crosier. The more contemplative may prefer to explore the narrow streets, admire the gargoyles of the listed church, take a stroll down to the washhouse or daydream outside the Maison du bonheur (House of Happiness). In a television contest presented in 1953 by Jean Nohain, a blind couple won the right to live here for the rest of their lives.
