A hike in the Champagne region
This package offers 3 days of hiking allowing you to completely immerse yourself in the nature of
the Champagne region in the heart of the Regional Nature Reserve of the Montagne de Reims,
on a trail which will wind its way between the vineyards and the villages.
Activities :
On the first night, you will be accommodated in a hotel basis in the city centre of Epernay. On
the two following nights, you will be accommodated in a bed and breakfast on a half board basis.
Day1: You will be welcomed in Epernay, the capital of champagne, at the end of the afternoon.
Day 2: 16 km. Your itinerary will begin in Epernay. You will be able to take advantage of a
magnificent view of the vineyards, the River Marne and the Château of Boursault. You will go
past Oeuilly, a village with character, where you will visit the ecomuseum, the museum of the
local school dating back to 1900 and the cellars, and taste the local wine grower’s champagne.
Day 3: 19 km. You will go through the forests and the vineyards to arrive in Cumières. Small
mountains and valleys, dense forests, hills and groves will stand out on the horizon. You will also
visit Hautvillers, the renowned village of Dom Pérignon, considered as the ‘spiritual father of
champagne”, as well as the village of Champillon.
Day 4: 13 km. Your hike will come to an end in Mutigny, an attractive village situated between
vineyards and forests, on a headland which reaches 242 metres at its highest point and overlooks
an exceptional landscape where wine is produced. Lastly, on the way back to Epernay, you will
go through the vineyards of the «grand crus» and along the banks of the River Marne.
