Coming from New York, the concept of "greeters" is being exported to the Marne with volunteer inhabitants who are passionate about their department.
The greeters in Champagne are not professional guides, but welcome visitors as friends for a walk to discover their town or village "off the beaten track".
In order to preserve the authentic aspect of these meetings based on sharing and exchange, they welcome small groups of six people maximum. Thus, each walk is unique: it depends on the personality of the visitors, the greeter who accompanies them, and the affinities that are created between them...

Anxious to promote and enhance the department, the Tourist Development Agency and the Marne Tourist Offices have set up this network of greeters: the idea being that the inhabitants are the best possible ambassadors to present the places in which they live on a daily basis!
