The chestnut is located beside the Sainte Marie Chapel which was built in 1911 at the exit of the village.
In visualising these old post cards, we can imagine that it was planted in 1915 at the same time as the chestnut trees dotting the avenue Justin Jolly which appear in the First World War photos.
