Why
take advantage (of it)...!
The village has received the visit of a number of illustrious people such as Joan of Arc accompanied by Charles VII, and Napoleon I during the battles against the Prussians. Cormicy has some fine buildings such as the Town Hall, which suffered damage in the First World War, with its imposing façade topped by a belltower, and the listed Romanesque church that was considerably redesigned during the last century; on the right side there is a small statue called the "smile of Cormicy" as a reminder of the smiling angle of Reims Cathedral. Cormicy, which was once a town, had a fortified castle, and traces of the ramparts surrounding the town can still be seen, as well as the drawbridge which protected the inhabitants.
