Why
take advantage (of it)...!
The name of the village is said to come from the Latin Sacis beneficial water. This origin would be in line with one of the natural assets symbolised by the monumental washhouse. Better still, the village was at the centre of a pilgrimage celebrating the virtues of the water in the fountain, reputed to cure headaches. It was right that Sacy had the advantage of running water in 1900 thanks to the springs which supplied it. At present it is champagne which fills the bottles and ensures the prosperity of this picturesque corner of the Tardenois region. All this is watched over by the Romanesque tower of the church of Saint Rémi, a listed monument which houses representations of Saint Anne, the Virgin and the Child.
