Why
take advantage (of it)...!
Created by François I and his Italian architect Marini, the "pink town" was rebuilt on to the same plans after the allied bombings which destroyed it. From the Goddess, the statue symbolising the river Marne, the four main streets of the town centre spread out, from the redesigned Place d'Armes with its proud collegial church, an accomplished example of religious classicism. Some of the streets lead to the Town Hall and its tree-filled grounds, and to the Porte du Pont rebuilt on another site.
