To the left of the Abbey, the northern wing of the former Benedictine abbey is partially restored. Founded in 680 by St. Réole, the current Abbey was built between 1180 and 1230.
Jean d'Orbais, a student of the monks, was around at the time of its construction. It was sold during the Revolution, was a police station from 1873 to 1959, a presbytery from 1962 to 2009, and a private property since 2009. The capitular hall, listed as a Historic Monument, hosts parochial celebrations during the winter.
