Why
take advantage (of it)...!

Sainte-Ménehould is a picturesque and welcoming town. Formerly called Château-sur-Aisne, the city owes its name to Manehildis who was known for his kindness in the 5th century.

Dom Pérignon was born there in 1639. Louis XVI passed through there on 21 June 1791. The town was entirely destroyed by a fire in 1719 and rebuilt from 1728 in an 18th century architectural complex.

Nearby, the Argonne sites bear witness to the First World War and the historic site of the Battle of Valmy is unmissable.

The booklet for the guided historical tour allows you to discover the town’s history, its architecture, and its famous people.
