Balade à Vertus

The pearl of the Côte des Blancs (the largest vineyard area in the department) has plenty of assets for visitors to enjoy. In addition to the magic of the fine bubbles which delight the palate, visitors can explore a town full of character whose glorious past was not totally destroyed by the wars: the church of Saint Martin reflected in the water of the well of the same name and whose Romanesque crypts are worth a visit by themselves, the porte Baudet, the last witness of the 13th century ramparts, and the proud or mysterious little streets.
