The name of this sessile oak, “the three brothers”, references a tree which appeared on the maps of the same area in the 18th century. This name was used for trees with three trunks.
Its silhouette isn't natural, this tree which grew in a coppice was cut at its base to form offshoots. Long ago, this was used to obtain firewood. As they aged, the regrowth gave birth to three trunks.
This tree, situated on a limited plot, was retained to mark the separation of properties.
