At 10am Meet at the Art and History Museum, the starting point for a guided walking tour of Sainte-Ménehould, "Little Town of Charm", where Dom Pérignon, the inventor of Champagne, was born in 1639.
Discover an exceptional group of architectural elements like the Art and History museum, the Town Hall dating from the 18th century, and old houses. Then, take the wooded paths to walk to the top of the small hill to the Château and its 18th-century Gothic church, where you’ll enjoy a superb view of the town.
Lunch in one of the town’s restaurants
In the afternoon, set off to Valmy, birthplace of the French Republic. Visit the "Valmy 1792" historic centre at your own pace. There you can relive the highlights of the French Revolution thanks to image and sound technology. Admire a piece of rare artillery: the Gribeauval canon. The battle is played out again before you thanks to an animated model in relief.
After visiting the Valmy 1792 historic centre, you’ll naturally move towards where the battle took place, at the foot of the windmill.
End of the day or return to Sainte-Ménehould for an optional one-hour pedalo ride to see more of the town’s scenery and colours. (from May to September)
