Nestling at the foot of the vineyards which form the major part of the economy, the village enjoys a peaceful lifestyle. See the wine press in front of the church under its wooden awning. In the past, it has experienced periods of intense activity. With Chantemerle, from the 11th to the 15th century, it was the hub of a very large interchange for trade between the centre of the Champagne region and the outside. They even built a fortress connected to the Priory of Saint Serein de La Celle. More recently, the plaque on the war memorial reminds us of the sacrifice of three members of the Resistance during the liberation on 29 August 1944.
