DISCOVER CHAMPAGNE AND MARNE IN A FUN, FRIENDLY WAY ON A GUIDED WALK WITH ONE OF OUR RESIDENTS!
39 greeters welcome you: talkative and passionate, the “Champagne Greeters” will guide you on your discovery of local treasures. They invite you to see the Champagne region Marne in another light, through a shared moment of friendly discussion.
For a walk through the vines, a stroll through town or even discovering small villages, this is how to discover Marne in a different way!
From New-York, the concept of “greeters” has been exported to Marne with the “Champagne Greeters”, these resident volunteers that are passionate about their department. Each greeter offers to share “their Champagne” with their visitors, by welcoming them as they would a friend.
Champagne Greeters are not professional guides, but welcome visitors like friends, taking them out for a walk to discover their town or village “off the beaten track”.
To keep to the spirit of these meetings, based on sharing and exchanging, they welcome small groups of up to six people maximum.
So, each walk is unique: it depends on the personality of the visitors, the greeter accompanying them and the affinity they find between them.
GREETERS, OR “HOSTS” ARE RESIDENTS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THEIR TERRITORY
They want help tourists explore it for free, by sharing their favourite places, must-sees and stories through friendly, free meetings…
Keen to promote and highlight their department, the Marne Tourism Development Agency and Tourist Offices have set up this network of greeters: the idea being that residents are the best possible ambassadors to present these places where they live their daily lives!
